Martin Malone
Born and raised in Kilkenny, Ireland, Martin, better known as ‘Murt’, grew up on a farm and has always thrived in the great outdoors. From an early age, Murt developed a passion for adventure and sport, immersing himself in just about every sport and outdoor activity imaginable. You name it, he’s done it.
His love for the outdoors and passion for engineering led him to join the Irish Army Permanent Defense Forces straight out of school, where he trained as an engineer. After transitioning to the private sector, Murt remained active in the Reserve Army, winning an Irish Armed Forces Orienteering title in 1996. He also dedicated his spare time to advancing his knowledge of the human body, earning a National Certificate in Sports and Fitness from the University of Limerick, a Diploma in Sports Nutrition, and qualifications in sports massage and first-aid.
In 1998, Murt relocated to the Isle of Man, where he currently works in the finance sector for Zurich International. True to form, he continued pushing his physical limits.
Since joining the Expedition Limitless leadership team, becoming Expedition Medic and an integral member of the team, Murt continues his relentless drive to make each Expedition a success by taking on grueling personal challenges to raise money for the chosen charity and supporting the team with all their fundraising activities.
